Horse Back Riding Vacations in Ireland
This Horseback Riding Tour passes through some of Ireland’s most spectacular landscape taking in views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Aran Islands, the River Shannon and the Burren Region. Each night is spent in comfortable and approved farmhouse or guesthouse accommodation, where guests are made feel very much at home.
Starting from Woodford, the trail leads through mountains, alongside the Shannon Rive rand via the Burren to Galway Bay. Every day covers between 25km and 35km by horse. The evenings can be spent at the participant’s leisure. The trek is led by experienced guides. Although the programme is aimed at the moderate rider, all guests must have some experience of horsemanship. Total beginners are discouraged from applying as the trek covers 200kms in 6 days riding of about 5 hours each day.

Moderate. Participants need to be able to trot, canter and gallop. Minimum age is 8 years. Every day covers between 25km & 35km by horse in about 5 hours of riding each day. |

| Equipment: |

All tack for horses is provided and helmets for riders. All other riding equipment, such as rain gear, boots, jodhpurs, gloves etc has to be provided by the participant.
Riders must wear hard hats (can be provided) and suitable boots. A waterproof coat or jacket and warm sweaters should also be included in riding wardrobe, as Irish weather can be unpredictable.

All luggage transfers required as part of the riding programme. Transfer to and from Shannon Airport to the riding centre on day of arrival and departure can be arranged at a cost of €35 per person each way. |

We can also arrange 4 days / 5 nights trail rides on request.
Non-riders are welcome, the rate is €540.00 pps.

| Meeting Point: |

If transfer from Shannon Airport is required you will be met at the meeting point in the arrival’s hall of Shannon Airport and brought to the Riding Centre. This has to be booked in advance. |

Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival in Shannon airport and pick up transfer from the aiport (if pre booked) to your Riding Centre / B&B in Whitegate / Mountshannon area, where you stay for the first 4 nights.
DAY 2
In the Riding Centre, introduction to your horse and start with the trail along the peaceful slopes of the wooded Slieve Aughty Mountains and across widespread bog lands.
DAY 3
Enjoying the fascinating views over the majestic Lough Derg you will be riding by the traditional turf cutting areas, listening to the myths of Neolithic dolmen and learning about the well-preserved ruins on Holy Island.
DAY 4
Heading for the top of the hills we will overlook endless woods and miles of storytelling rough old stonewalls sheltering the juicy green pastures. The sandy shores of Lough Graney, invites us to canter along the beach and on goes the trail right across the gentle lapping lake.
DAY 5
Lovely wood tracks guide you to the boggy uplands. County Clare unfolds all around you up the distant rising hills of the Burren National Park and down to the sweeping immense of Galway Bay. Overnight in Corofin.
DAY 6
You will experience the very special and totally different moon like landscape of the Burren, with its rare and colourful flora and fauna and the stunning variety of prehistoricall settlements. Stay the next two nights in Lisdoonvarna, famed for the traditional Irish music in its pubs.
DAY 7
Riding further westwards until you reach the edge of the shredded coastline you will be delighted by the breathtaking view of the endless Atlantic sea, the famous Aran Islands, the rugged Connemara Mountains and the fascinating Cliffs of Moher. Overnight in Lisdoonvarna
DAY 8
After breakfast onwards journey or transfer back to Shannon Airport.

- Price €1160.00 per person sharing (Outside of June, July and August €1080.00 pps)
- Non-riders are welcome, the rate is €540.00 pps
All prices are in EURO, and based on per person sharing. Per person sharing means two people in one room.
Single Supplement of €119.00 will be applied to those booking a single room, or those booking a place as an individual where no suitable person is available to share a room and a single room is allocated.
Transfers to and from the Riding Centre have to be booked in advance.
