Day 1

Arrive to Leenane

We will collect you from Galway City, Westport train station or Knock Airport on arrival. Your starting point of the tour is Leenane village in Connemara, to which we will bring you. Overlooking Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord, and nestled at the foot of the Maamturk Mountains, the village has one of the most scenic locations in Ireland. Once you have settled in, Conor or Gabriel will meet you, either on the evening of your arrival or the following morning (depending on your arrival time), to go through your itinerary and answer any questions you may have about your tour.

Day 2

Adventure & Discovery Day!

Today is a full day of adventure activity! You will begin by cycling a short distance (5 kms) to Killary Adventure Centre where you will be able to choose from sea kayaking on the fjord and taking on the High Ropes Course and Giant Swing at their activity site on the shores of the fjord. A tasty homemade lunch will be provided before you continue with another short cycle (5km) to reach Killary Sheep Farm. With entry included in your package you will visit this traditional working farm with 200 ewes and lambs roaming freely on the mountainside, overlooking Killary Fjord. You will have the chance to view sheepdog, sheep-shearing and turf-cutting demonstrations. After your action-packed, fun-filled day you will return to Leenane village to enjoy all this friendly village has to offer.

Day 3

Leenane to Renvyle 25km

After breakfast, your destination today is the Renvyle Peninsula, an area which juts out into the Atlantic Ocean and has been shaped by it over the years. Before you reach Renvyle you will come to the pier from where the Connemara Lady catamaran departs and you will have the chance to take an excursion along Ireland's only fjord by boat. A fascinating commentary is provided onboard about the fjord and the surrounding area, its history, wildlife and people. You might even spot a pod of dolphins which often accompany the boat! On return to dry land you will cycle on through a deep valley to emerge on the coast once more. Pristine white sandy beaches will provide the perfect location for a beach picnic before travelling on to your accommodation in Renvyle.

Day 4

Renvyle Peninsula, Connemara National Park & Kylemore Abbey

There is just so much to do and see that we have allowed a full day for exploring and a second night in Renvyle. You could choose to spend the day at the beach or exploring the peninsula by bike. Alternatively, you could decide to visit the Connemara National Park in the village of Letterfrack where the landscape is preserved and accessible via looped trails and an excellent visitor centre. You could also visit Kylemore Abbey where there is so much for all the family to enjoy. Explore the restored rooms of this nineteenth century Abbey and learn about its history and tales of tragedy and romance. Discover woodland walks, lakeshore walks, nature trails and a children's play trail throughout the 1,000-acre estate. An added option of horseriding on the beach in the nearby village of Cleggan for an extra charge is also available.

Day 5

Renvyle to Clifden (including Sky Road) 38km

After another delicious traditional Irish breakfast you take to the road with Clifden as your destination for today. Your journey will take you through Letterfrack and later through the small fishing village of Cleggan where you can stop off for lunch. Leaving Cleggan you will follow the coast and you will have the chance to cycle one of the most beautiful roads in the country, the Sky Road, before arriving in Clifden for your final night. Clifden is a lively spot where you will find good shopping, restaurants and traditional music.

Day 6

Breakfast and departure

Breakfast and depart Clifden for your onward journey.

The B&B option means you will get to stay in a family home where the personal touch and attention to detail is second to none. A true Irish welcome awaits you as well as home-cooked food, comfort and a taste of traditional Irish life.

While you may be staying in part of the family home this does not mean that you will not have privacy and high standards of accommodation you require. Cosy rooms, modern facilities and care and attention are what these properties excel in.

When you select this tour you will have the chance to stay in either hotels or B&B/guesthouse accommodation. The 3* hotels that have been selected are all comfortable, well-appointed properties which also boast their own character and style. You may find yourself in a historic manor house hotel, one with a modern twist or get a 'room with a view' overlooking a shimmering lake or a golden beach.

However they all share the same high standards of hospitality and service and will guarantee you a warm welcome, good food and a relaxing experience after your day on the road.

"Thank you again for your time during our stay that will leave us with fond memories (as the weather was with us, 10 days without rain should not be normal!)."
